Rhode Island Monthly: Tunes Tuesday - Kai Nanfelt

Kai Nanfelt Talks New Music, “Down,” and Giving Back to Tune In Tune Up
We’re excited to see Tune In Tune Up board member Kai Nanfelt featured in Rhode Island Monthly’s “Tunes Tuesday” series.
In the interview with Tess Lyons, Kai talks about returning to making his own music after years of working in music PR, the inspiration behind his new single "Down,” and the decision to use the release to support an organization that means a lot to him.
Kai is donating 100% of the streaming proceeds from “Down” during its first 100 days, through October 25, to Tune In Tune Up.
The song explores the pressure we can put on ourselves when progress doesn’t happen as quickly or as neatly as we'd like. For Kai, releasing “Down” became an opportunity not only to return to his own music, but also to shine a light on the work Tune In Tune Up is doing to help musicians and music professionals access medical, dental, behavioral health, and other support.
As Kai puts it, he wants to use the song, the donation, and the attention it receives to let more people know that Tune In Tune Up is here for the Rhode Island music community.
