When not facing critical and emergency needs like heart attack, stroke and trauma, it is often more affordable and convenient to use a Walk-In Clinic. Cost can be a little as 1/10 the cost of Emergency Room services and your wait is likely to be considerably less.

CVS Minute Clinics are a walk in clinic providing health care and wellness services 7 days a week including evenings and weekends. Minute Clinics have locations in Cranston, North Smithfield, Wakefield, Woonsocket, East Greenwich, Providence, and Westerly.
Minute Clinics are staffed by nurse practitioners and physician assistants (exact staffing may vary, according to company reps, but there is always an NP or PA in the clinic). They provide services including treatment for minor illnesses and injuries, health screenings and monitoring, vaccinations, some labs and even wellness visits and physical exams (such as for college, camp or sports). An appointment is never necessary, and weekend and evening hours are available. Both insured and out-of-pocket patients are welcome.
