TUNE IN & TUNE UP Rhode Island Musicians Health Awareness Program is designed to ensure that its members have up-to-date information to make decisions about health awareness, healthcare, and health insurance.
So… is TUNE IN & TUNE UP a health insurance plan? NO.
But… one of our prime concerns is how confusing and daunting it can be to understand what may be available to musicians as self-employed individuals. While we will post some timely information here when we can, the health insurance field changes so often and so quickly that there is no way we can keep up with it as a small all-volunteer initiative.
However, we absolutely DO encourage and want you to GET health insurance and this is where you need to go …

HealthSourceRI is the state-run exchange in Rhode Island. Zachary Sherman has been serving as HealthSourceRI’s acting director since November 2015, and was named as the permanent director in March 2016. As of April 4, 2016, the contact center moved to 401 Wampanoag Trail in East Providence. This replaces the previous location on Royal Little Drive, and it’s still functioning as a contact center only (ie, payments and documentation can be dropped off, but in-person assistance is not available at the contact center).
